A more efficient thanksgiving |

Hosting Thanksgiving dinner can be a daunting task. From choosing the menu to cooking the turkey to finding space for those delicious leftovers, the process can be overwhelming.
But it doesn't need to be, says Catherine Marion, co-host of The Mom Show and Whirlpool Home Appliances spokesperson: "There are many simple ways to cut time without cutting corners."
Marion offers 10 ways to help you get out of the kitchen and back into your life this Thanksgiving:
1. Get the whole family in on it. Assign age-appropriate tasks and delegate fully - don't rush in and finish someone else's job.
2. Update the recipe book with simple shortcuts. Choose pre-cut veggies, pre-shredded cheese or pre-mixed spices to achieve the same result with less hassle.
3. Prep the fridge. Simply reorganizing your refrigerator before you start will make it easier to find everything you need in a snap. And be sure to maximize organizational features like adjustable door bins and shelves to ensure you can fit all your holiday supplies.
4. Cook the turkey with convection technology, and shave at least 45 minutes off the cooking time (for a 12 pound turkey).
5. Cook more - at the same time. Split racks in ovens like the one offered by Whirlpool Home Appliances means that your turkey doesn't have to dominate the oven - you can cook the whole meal at once.
6. Prepare in advance, and use warming drawers and warming zones to keep food ready to serve.
