Who Chooses the Music, Anyway PDF Print E-mail

Just wondering about the choice of background music played in stores today. I would suppose that store managers would consider the age and taste of their customers when choosing music, but it seems that is not true. I can only guess that the music is chosen to please the staff, rather that the customers, which is a shame as the staff are not shopping! If the music is too loud and unpleasant then I and my money are out the door and gone. As well, those Canadian stores that have an American radio station playing will never enjoy the sight of my card zipping through their machine. A few days ago I had an occasion to phone an RV dealer and was put on hold, which would have been fine. Now, who are the buyers at an RV dealer? Certainly very few are under 50. The music playing on 'hold' was well beyond unpleasant, it was painful and not appropriate in any way. I hung up the phone and called another dealer.
