Thousands of Canadian Junior Hockey fans on holiday abroad set aside their sun-tanning, people-watching and idle beach time for a few hours to cheer on Canada’s Junior Hockey Team to their fourth straight GOLD MEDAL win over the luckless Team Sweden. It wasn’t the only time they placed their television hockey watching priorities ahead of the sun, the beach and the sand. They made sure that their favorite resort, restaurant, bar or some other accessible venue was carrying the World Junior Hockey Tournament for them to see. It was a good thing they did for the establishments that carried the games carried the business that day. The gray haired set in the spa resorts were matched by the young backpackers and the economy minded in the small rental market resorts. It didn’t matter where they were sequestered. They were all of one mind – BRING HOME THE GOLD. Congratulations to this fantastic group of hockey fans. They are setting a sterling example of good sportsmanship and encouraging active participation in active sport that will carry into a lifetime.|
