Sports Person-Vee Dewar PDF Print E-mail

The subject of racquet sports this month places focus on a senior who is 90 years young but continues to play tennis. From her earliest years Vee Dewar was involved in sports and athletics. Vee learned her competitive traits out on the playing fields learning from and competing with the boys. This competitive characteristic and desire to be involved in physically active sport continued into her adult years when she attained a Bachelors Degree in Physical and Health Education.

During the BC Seniors Games in Penticton Vee participated in no less than three sports. Vee continues her participation in active sport to this day. She is a career tennis player and continues to play tennis a minimum of twice a week at the tennis bubble in Penticton's Queen's Park.

To add to her active lifestyle Vee is a Director of the Downtown Penticton Recreation Centre where she serves as an active volunteer and on the marketing Committee. A respectful tip of the hat goes to Vee Dewar who continues to enjoy the health and fitness benefits of a full, active, sporting and community service lifestyle.
