Our sports story on dance this month provides the opportunity to focus our attention on two Penticton seniors who, while remaining active themselves, are ready, willing and able to share their skill and knowledge of Ballroom Dancing with others.

Robin Sims and Nancy Wright, who are accomplished and well-practiced ballroom dancers, enjoy their recreation skill to such a degree that they willingly provide their time, talents and instructional ability to teach ballroom dance to other seniors. Their interest in dance blossomed when Robin introduced Nancy to the genre and they have been practitioners of the dance ever since. Active and regular attendees for the past ten years they are members of the Penticton ‘Funtimers’ Dance Club that meets every Friday night at the Penticton Elks Club Ballroom. 

In addition to dance, both Robin and Nancy are active white water kayakers in the summer and regularly ski on the local slopes in winter. In addition, Nancy is a regular practitioner of NIA (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) (we will write on this activity in a later publication). Congratulations Robin and Nancy you are demonstrating that there is so much to share and enjoy in life by participating in a physically active lifestyle.
