Active Sports for Active Seniors

It has been said that WE DO NOT STOP PLAYING BECAUSE WE GROW OLD; WE GROW OLD BECAUSE WE STOP PLAYING. True or not there is empirical evidence that seniors who continue to participate in a physically active sport lead a longer, healthier, and more enjoyable lifestyle. Studies continue to demonstrate that seniors who participate regularly in physically active sports call upon the health care system less than those that do not; and, when they do need the services of their physicians the recovery time is significantly less than would otherwise be the case.

It is with this premise in mind that we embark on a new and regular column highlighting involvement of seniors in physically active sports and activities. We are actively seeking input from you - our reader. We need your stories; your input; your suggestions and your contacts. We will provide the columnist to write the articles, take the pictures, do the interviews, attend the activity, and place your stories in this much read and prized periodical. We are particularly interested in senior sports organizations that play a physically active sport regularly in their community and contribute to the economic activity of their community by hosting sports tournaments. It is your newsmagazine - help us tell your stories.

Contact The Seniors Choice and give us the name and method to contact your Information or Public Relations Director. Better yet call Jerry or Gloria and give them the information.
