The Seniors CHOICE Newsmagazine
The Seniors CHOICE is a monthly newsmagazine that caters to the 55+ residents of the Thompson/Okanagan Valleys. The paper is seventeen years old and is constantly changing and adapting to meet the needs and the interests of its readers.
Each issue is available in every city and town throughout the area, and is delivered to every Senior Centre.
The CHOICE enjoys a readership of 35,000+, and this number is growing steadily as the Okanagan Valley is becoming a retirement destination for Canadians.
The CHOICE is a free paper available at all senior centers, shopping malls, libraries, major grocery stores, and other high traffic areas.
It stands apart from other newsmagazines in the area because its focus is entirely on the people of the Thompson/Okanagan, their stories, their interests and their concerns.
The Seniors CHOICE provides its readers with a wide variety of information and entertainment. Each issue contains interviews with seniors of interest, articles by lawyers, investment counselors, veterinarians, travel writers, senior sports writers, computer experts, etc. as well as jokes, poems and recipes.
Additional editorial content is provided by specialists in health care, exercise for seniors, diet, and hearing and eye care practitioners.
The editorial content is then supported by the Seniors CHOICE website, which contains past articles from the paper so that readers can refer back to articles that have appeared in the previous twelve months.
The website serves as an information portal for those interested in relocating to the Okanagan for their retirement years. It contains details of the various communities, the senior housing choices available, golf courses, museums, etc.
It also hosts an evolving list of websites providing information on a host of topics of interest to seniors and their families.
